Jeffrey Weeks (United Kingdom) is a historian, sociologist, and professor emeritus from the London South Bank University. He was among the first researchers in social sciences to work on sexuality and private life. Both an academic and an activist, he joined the Gay Liberation Front in 1970 and founded Gay Left, a journal published in London from 1975 to 1980 that defended gay rights.
