The oracle and the doctor

8 bis, quai Saint-Vincent
Lyon 1er
With the support of the Goethe Institut of Lyon.
Presented by : Raphaëlle Rérolle. With : Christine Bergé, Katrin Solhdju and the Docteur Élisabeth Ollagnon-Roman.
Fundamental to the relation between a doctor and a patient is the specific moment when the diagnosis is delivered. What does it reveal? Between intimacy, trust, and domination, this crucial moment speaks volumes on the relation between the one who provides care and the one who is being cared for. Medical rhetoric, while asserted with authority, sometimes seems to appertain to the mysteries of the oracle: this indelible moment is inscribed in the life narrative of the patient. How can we pinpoint the difference between a diagnosis and a prediction, a notice and a sentence, a doctor and a clairvoyant?
