Bruno Julliard was born in 1981 in Puy-en-Velay (Haute-Loire). He graduated from highschool in 1999 and studied law at the Lumière Lyon 2 University. During his studies he joined the UNEF - ID (French Sudents National Union - Independant and Democratic). He is elected president of UNEF in 2005. In the meantime he became a member of the French Socialist Party (PS). In 2008, Bruno Julliard ran for elections in the 13th arrondissement of Paris and got elected at the Paris Council. The Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë named him deputy mayor in charge of youth and later in charge of culture. The same year, Bruno Julliard was named PS National Secretary in charge of education. In 2012, he joined the François Hollande's campaign team. After the election of Hollande he works for the cabinet of Vincent Peillon, Minister of the National Education, that he left in 2014, after the election of Anne Hidalgo as the Mayor of Paris. He is her first deputy mayor in charge of culture and cultural heritage, of night events and relationships with the arrondissements town halls.
