Jean-Baptiste Jeangène Vilmer, a philosopher and jurist, currently teaches at the McGill University (Montréal) Faculty of Law. He recently published, as editor, the Anthologie d’éthique animale. Apologies des bêtes (PUF, 2011), comprising the work of writers and thinkers who having been raising the issue of the moral status of animals for centuries.
