Jeffrey Weeks became politically involved during the seventies, both as an activist and as an academic, and was among the first to do research on sexuality – a suspicious topic that will only become legitimized after the terrible AIDS crisis.
On the other side of the Channel, Michel Foucault started working on the same topics at the same time. Daniel Defert, who shared his life and his research, was in the forefront of the fight against AIDS.
We will be reviewing a major upheaval in mores, discourses, and scientific research.
