Biography

Abdelasiem El Difraoui is German-Egyptian and holds a doctorate from Sciences Po Paris. Il He has won numerous international awards for his reporting and documentaries, in particular for Le Siège de Bagdad, which he directed, and for Tahrir 2011, which he coproduced. He has advised the German government on foreign policy and is currently a senior fellow at the Institute for Research on Media and Communication Policy in Berlin, where he has worked, in particular, on the role of the media in the Arab spring.
