Mauro Carbone, (Italy/France) is a philosopher and senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France. A specialist of Merleau-Ponty, he founded and now co-runs the journal Chiasmi International as well as the collection «L’œil et l’esprit Esthétique, phénoménologie, textes plurilingues » (ed. Mimesis, Milan-Paris). He taught Contemporary Esthetics in Milan before taking the helm of the Master’s program in Esthetics and Visual Cultures in the Philosophy Department of the University Lyon 3-Jean Moulin.
