A writer and filmmaker born in Lyon in 1968, Éric Vuillard is the author of four books, Le Chasseur (Michalon, 1999), Bois vert (Léo Scheer, 2002), Tohu (2005), and Conquistadors (2009), which won the Grand prix littéraire du web 2009 and the prix Ignatius J. Reilly 2010. He has directed two films, L’homme qui marche (2007) and Mateo Falcone (2009), and in 2012 he published two stories with Actes Sud, La bataille d’Occident and Congo. He received the 2012 Prix Franz Hessel.
