BiographY

Alain Claude Sulzer was born in Riehen, near Basel, in 1953. After training to be a librarian, he worked as a journalist and began writing in the 1980s. He is the author of nine novels (three of which have been translated into French), short stories, essays, and radio plays. He is also a translator working from the French. Un garçon parfait, published in 2008, won the Medicis Foreign Novel Prize and the Radio Suisse romande (Swiss French radio) prize in 2009. It has already been translated into a dozen languages.
