Christian Oster was born in Paris in 1949. He started his literary career writing crime novels for Le Fleuve Noir in the 1980s. Awarded the Prix Médicis in 2001 for Mon Grand Appartement, which Claude Berri adapted for Une Femme de Ménage, he has had most of his works published by Éditions de Minuit. At the same time, he has written a large number of books of children’s literature, published by Ecole des Loisirs. In 2013 he won the Landerneau Prize for his novel En Ville, published by éditions de l’Olivier.
