PHILOSOPHER - WRITER
France
Bernard-Henri Lévy, a philosopher, writer, novelist, filmmaker and journalist, is the author of an impressive body of work. From his first trip to Bangladesh to his investigation into Daniel Pearl’s death in Pakistan via multiple trips to Sarajevo, he has always fought for causes he felt were just.
Invested in the Libyan conflict both personally and as Nicolas Sarkozy’s unofficial adviser, he published La Guerre sans l’aimer (Grasset, 2011), a sort of captain’s log drawn from his activities during this war. His film Le Serment de Tobrouk was filmed primarily on site and was presented at the last Cannes film festival.
