What can art and literature do when faced with “the scandal of truth”? Which answers and solutions can they offer to whatever disrupts or lays beyond our understanding? Erri de Luca and Frédéric Boyer have both interrogated the linguistic and literary reality of sacred texts through a diligent and imaginative practice; both have shed light on the unsettling and innovative power these texts have against our certainties.
