BiographY

Gilles Cohen-Tannoudji is a French physicist. Born in Constantinople in 1938, he is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique. He is considered the father of the horizon concept: “I suggest using the concept of horizon, which shares with the Bohr phenomenon the property of unifying 'subjective' and 'objective.'”
A theoretical physicist at the Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives in Saclay (Elementary Particle Physics Department), he also teaches at Paris XI in Orsay and at the national institute for nuclear science and techniques (INSTN).
