Patrick Boucheron (France), historian, is a professor of medieval history at the University of Paris I. He is a member of the editing committee for the magazine L’Histoire and runs the Publications de la Sorbonne press. His research focuses on medieval Italy - its cities, princes, and artists - but also on the writing of history today.
