Jean Birnbaum is editor in chief of Le Monde des Livres. He is the author of the last interview with Jacques Derrida, Learning to Live Finally: The Last Interview (Melville House Publishing, 2007), and also wrote two essays about politics and transmission : Leur jeunesse et la nôtre. L'espérance révolutionnaire au fil des générations (Stock, 2005) and Les Maoccidents. Un néoconservatisme à la française (Stock, 2009). He recently published an anthology entitled Bernanos face aux imposteurs (Le Monde/Garnier, 2012).
