Biography
Christophe Laudamiel is a world-renown perfumer, osmocurator™ and trained chemist who has created fragrances for famous houses such as Estee Lauder, Thierry Mugler, Michael Kors, Burberry, Tom Ford, Clinique, Ralph Lauren, and Abercrombie & Fitch.
He is now Master Perfumer and President of DreamAir LLC, a unique enterprise in the bespoke fragrance and Air Sculpture® design arenas, scenting with his colleague Christoph Hornetz, such places as the Setai Fifth Avenue Hotel NY, Lacoste NY, Virgin Fitness Milan and Cesare Paciotti stores worldwide.
Christophe authored and managed the 30+ scents for the first ScentOpera which premiered at the New York and Bilbao Guggenheim Museums (2009). Since 2010, he has been responsible for the scents of Garden of Addiction at the Grasse Perfume Museum. In 2012, he was the subject of the first solo show ever, in homage to olfactory art, in a main street gallery in Manhattan: Phantosmia, an exhibit of 7 artistic scent installations at the Dillon Gallery.
To note are also his creations of the scent-track for the film and book Perfume (by Patrick Süskind), three Air Sculpture® events for the World Economic Forum in Davos, an Elton John black candle, Orchidelirium for the Royal Botanical Gardens in London, and Community - the first ever olfactory retrospective from 1957 till today- at the European Parliament in Brussels. He is currently working on an exhibit for the only American factory for the Blind, which is to be unveiled in Brooklyn NY in September 2012.
Avant-gardist, he is often asked to give keynote speeches at renowned institutions such as Harvard and Columbia Universities, the French Embassies and the University of the Arts in Berlin. He is the first and only perfumer to have officially archived scents academically (Harvard University) and is now founding the not-for-profit Academy of Perfumery in the USA. He has contributed several unique chapters to reference books in the industry and regularly collaborates with scholars, artists and ueberfamous chef Heston Blumenthal.
He is known each time for his pioneering work, leaving behind a trail of patents, new technologies to display fragrances and, of course, signature high-end fragrances of all kinds.
