Biography
Cyril Casmèze, ex-member of the Archaos Circus and the Plume Circus, stage actor and danser, founded the Compagnie du Singe Debout in 2002 with Jade Duviquet, actress, author and theater director.
They brought together their theater and circus experiences in order to explore the porous differences between man and animal through a study of the body, language, silence and sometimes sounds and images that proves their creed : showing the animal allows us to see the man, putting the actor in an animal body is a means towards finding out a truth about humanity. They explore several territories in their productions, from autofiction to intimacy, and stories where animality is roused in the most dazzling moments.
