Mary Jo Bang is the author of six books of poems, including Louise in Love, The Bride of E, and Elegy, which received the National Book Critics Circle Award. She’s been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Hodder Fellowship from Princeton University. Bang has a B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from Northwestern University, a B.A. in Photography from the Polytechnic of Central London, and an M.F.A. in Poetry from Columbia University. She’s currently a Professor of English at Washington University in St. Louis. Her translation of Dante's Inferno, with illustrations by Henrik Drescher, was published by Graywolf in 2012.
