BiographY

Born in Tuscany in 1959, Sandro Veronesi exercises his talents in various areas. After obtaining his degree in architecture at the University of Florence he turned to writing. As a journalist, he has published several works collecting his investigations and reports; as a translator of novels and films, he has written numerous screenplays and founded, with Domenico Procacci, the independent publishing house Fandango Libri. As a novelist, in 2000 he published La Force du passé, which won several awards and has been translated into roughly fifteen languages and adapted for film. Five years later, Chaos calme earned him the prestigious Strega Prize and was also made into a movie, with Nanni Moretti in the starring role. Sandro Veronesi currently lives in Prato, in Tuscany.
