A novelist, essayist and translator born in 1968, Christos Chryssopoulos is the author of a dozen books. He is one of the most prolific writers in Greece and one of the most innovative of his generation. His books have been translated into five languages and awarded prizes in Europe and the United States. Winner of the Athens Academy award in 2008, Chryssopoulos teaches at the National Center for Greek Books and regularly publishes articles on literary criticism and theory. A member of the European Cultural Parliament (ECP), he founded and directs the Dasein literary festival, which brings international writers and artists to Athens every year.
For his novels published by Actes Sud, Chryssopoulos has appeared at the festival of European literatures in Cognac, the Est-Ouest (East-West) festival in Die, the Passa Porta festival in Brussels, the Etonnants voyageurs (Surprising Travelers) salon in Saint-Malo, and the Écrivains en bord de mer (Seaboard Writers) festival in La Baule.
