PHILOSOPHER / WRITER

France

A writer and philosopher, his La Maison des anges (Grasset, 2013) is a dark fable about the relationship between the Parisian bourgeois and tramps and the homeless. In his essay Misère de la prospérité (Grasset, 2002), he dismisses both neoliberals and anti-capitalists, considering them victims of a religious illusion that places the economy above society, out of harm’s way. In his latest book, the autobiographical Un bon fils, he reviews his personal and intellectual roots, giving us the key to his work.
