Hugo Boris was born in 1979. A graduate of IEP-Bordeaux and the École Nationale Supérieure Louis-Lumière, in 2003 he won the Jeune Écrivain award for his short story N’oublie pas de montrer ma tête au peuple (Mercure de France). In 2005 he published his first novel, Le Baiser dans la nuque (Belfond), and the book was recognized at the Festival du premier roman in Chambéry and won the Emmanuel-Roblès award. In 2007 Boris won the Hebdos en Région literary prize and was a finalist in the Grand-Prix RTL-Lire for his second novel, La Délégation Norvégienne. Published in 2007, his Je n’ai pas dansé depuis longtemps won the Amerigo-Vespucci award and was a finalist for numerous other awards, including the Landerneau award, the Grand-Prix RTL-Lire, and the Françoise Sagan award. Boris has also worked as an assistant director on documentary projects and directed several short films. In 2013 he published Trois Grands Fauves, which was selected for the Prix du roman Fnac.
