Séverine Ballon’s work draws on her familiarity with the key works of the repertoire as well as her many collaborations with composers. Her research as an improviser serves to deepen her search for sounds and to develop her instrumental technique.
She works with Helmut Lachenmann, Liza Lim, Mauro Lanza, Rebecca Saunders, etc. and travels across centuries, from electronic music to strings made of intestines, from Morton Feldman to Brian Ferneyhough.
