Christine Angot was born in 1959 in Châteauroux. She studied in Reims and obtained an LLM in international law, then left off studying to write, deciding to work full time at and earn her living from this new activity. Six year later, in 1990, Gallimard published Vu du ciel. Success came in 1999 with the publication of L’Inceste.
After having lived in Montpellier and Nice, Angot now lives in Paris and continues to publish with various publishing houses. Her novels, called “self-fiction,” have made the news several times. In September 2012, Angot published Une semaine de vacances.
